X2

The time has come for those who are different to stand united

Leaping feet-first into our season with a roar, a growl, and large amounts of whup-arse is the heavy side-burned 'X Men 2' or 'X2' to its mates.

Following on from the action as it left off in the original 'X Men' movie, Wolverine, Xavier, Magneto and company are back for a second round to do battle with a lethal plot.

His plot to turn humans into mutants having been spectacularly foiled the first time, Magneto is currently doing time in a plastic prison. After Mystique sends him the proverbial file in a cake, Magneto is out and soon must join forces with his enemy, Xavier, and the X Men in an attempt to stop a madman from destroying the entire world popualtion of mutants. As if that weren't enough excitment, Wolverine's murky past is drawing ever closer- just who or what was the be-clawed dude once upon a time?

Packed with special effects and punchy lines, this is a terrifically fun action- adventure film. There's plenty to feast the eyes (Mystique and new-comer Nightcrawler proving that blue is beautiful), tickle the funny bone ("Put the weapons down and put your hands up, buddy" "I can't!"), as well as great performances from some of the best actors in the business (Hel-lo Hugh Jackman- phrwoar), not to mention a bus-load of in-references for all the comic-book fans out there...

So buy that season ticket, kick back with a drink, and join us to see whether these seriously freaky superheros can save the day.
