The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Sunday 2nd November 20034:00 AM

Ok, so I guess most of you have heard of this film. It was banned for like 20 years or something, it must be violent and bloody and horrible. This is all complete rubbish. I own this film on DVD and I can tell you that there are only 2 cups of blood in the whole film, this film was meant to be a PG (both from the directors commentary of the DVD!!). This film is no way near as bad as you think it is. DOn't get me wrong, people die at the hands of a guy with a chainsaw but if you have not seen this film and do not think you can handle it you will. Least it is on 5th which means the screams will keep you awake!

So the general plot. Campervan full of people pick up a hitchhiker that works at a local slaughter house. He proceeds to take wierd photos, burn them, and cut one of the people. Having thrown him out of the van the guys call off at a house that was a childhood home for one of them, two go to find a lake and get butchered, the rest, including a disabled guy go looking and end up dead. Yeah!

This film is good, the camera work is very good, check out the camera shot under the swing upto the house - it really is so good. The props and scene decoration is outstanding, all the bones and stuff (taken from a local vets dead pile) are quite something and on the big screen expect something very special. This film will be best seen on a big screen. You're only paying what £4 to see 6 films, this one by itself is worth £2!!

PS The dead Armadillo at the start has no bearing on anything it was just the prop guys own project.

PPS This WAS NOT a true story, they made it up, its just a good urban legend!!

PPPS While filming Leatherface stayed in character (well at least the makeup) and out of sight until needed so the other actors would not get to know Gunther and the "fear" would be genuine.

PPPPS this was filmed in Summer, all the dead props were quite smelly (e.g. the chicken table decoration during meal time)

PPPPPS If you can't guess, this review is biased.....I *do* like this film!!
