Bruce Almighty

How would you handle the most awesome responsibility in the universe?

Jim Carrey and comedy just seem to go together. In this film he stars alongside Morgan Freeman and Jennifer Aniston to create an intelligent comedy for all ages.

You may already know the basic plot of the film from the trailers. Jim Carrey plays Bruce Nolan, a news reporter that believes the world is going against him. His girlfriend Grace Connelly, played by Aniston, is frustrated by the lack of attention she is getting from Bruce. Bruce blames God for all of his bad luck in life. God (Morgan Freeman) becomes sick and tired of Bruce's complaining and decides to give his powers to Bruce, just to show him just how hard it is to be God. Bruce then uses his new powers to make his life 'perfect'. Meanwhile, all the subtle things he does (and doesn't) drastically change the world. Being God isn't all it is cracked up to be.

Jim Carrey plays his usual mad self, which is always enjoyable to watch. Morgan Freeman puts in a great performance playing this film's representation of God. Jennifer Aniston is also a benefit to the film. Overall, this film does well to accommodate the humour of all ages. There aren't many films out there that will keep the whole family interested. Not a film to miss.
